IHPSO PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Professional Standing built on clear requirements.

IHPSO Professional Membership connects defined entry requirements, required Core Education, Professional Standards and public verification within one framework. IHPSO Professional Membership is available to individuals aged 18 or over who are acting in a professional or business capacity. It is not offered for primarily private or consumer purposes.

PROFESSIONAL STANDING

More than a badge.

IHPSO Professional Membership documents that defined IHPSO requirements have been completed and that the Professional commits to ongoing Professional Conduct within the IHPSO Framework. Membership is not a substitute for government licences, profession-specific authorization or required qualifications, and it does not automatically expand statutory Scope of Practice. Professionals remain responsible for requirements applicable to their specific work, role and jurisdiction.

REQUIREMENTS

A clear pathway to Professional Membership.

IHPSO Professional Membership is intended for individuals working professionally in Health, Human Performance or adjacent fields who can meet the applicable IHPSO Membership requirements. IHPSO Professional Membership is available to individuals aged 18 or over who are acting in a professional or business capacity. It is not offered for primarily private or consumer purposes. Membership is taken in a personal capacity: the Professional ID and the recorded credentials belong to the individual, not to an employer or organisation. The Membership process connects a Professional Profile, required Core Education and acknowledgement of IHPSO Professional Standards. Eligibility is determined by the current entry criteria and the information provided by the Professional. A professional title alone does not establish entitlement to Membership.

CORE EDUCATION

Four shared foundations.

Core Education creates a shared professional foundation across different backgrounds. It does not grant new statutory professional authority. The four courses cover Ethics & Professional Conduct, Scope of Practice, Evidence & Scientific Communication, and Safety & Risk Fundamentals. Each course includes a required assessment with an 80 percent pass mark.

ASSESSMENT

An 80 percent required pass mark.

Each of the four Core Courses ends with a 20-question assessment. A minimum score of 80 percent is required to pass. A failed assessment does not satisfy the relevant Core Requirement. Only successful completion is recorded for the corresponding Core Course in the IHPSO system. Assessments may be repeated until the required 80 percent pass mark is achieved.

CREDENTIALS

Completion is documented transparently.

Successfully completed Core Courses may be documented in the IHPSO system through the designated Certificates and Education Badges. These credentials show completion of the relevant IHPSO Education Requirement. They do not constitute a government licence, medical authorization or automatic expansion of Scope of Practice.

PUBLIC REGISTRY

Professional Standing. Publicly verifiable.

When Membership requirements are fulfilled and a Professional Profile is published, current IHPSO status can be made verifiable through the Public Registry. The Registry displays only information intended for public presentation and recorded in the IHPSO system. The Public Registry verifies IHPSO status and information specifically identified as verified. It should not be treated as verification of external licences or professional authorizations unless these are expressly identified as verified.

MEMBERSHIP & PRICING

One price. Four Core Courses. One annual Membership status.

IHPSO Professional Membership is USD 199 per year at launch. The first Membership year includes all four required Core Courses and their assessments. Renewal is currently USD 199 per year. This is the launch price and not a commitment for future years. Any change to the renewal price is notified before it takes effect. Membership is designed as an annually auto-renewing Membership where automatic renewal has been validly agreed during checkout and is permitted by applicable law. It then renews for another year unless cancelled before the next renewal. Automatic renewal may be cancelled at any time for the next renewal period. Unless another termination or suspension ground applies, current Membership status continues until the end of the paid term. Partial refunds for the current term are generally not provided, except where mandatory applicable law requires otherwise. Payment alone does not establish Active Professional Status: active status requires fulfilment of the applicable IHPSO Membership Requirements.

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY

Professional Standing does not end with the assessment.

IHPSO Professional Membership is designed as an ongoing status. Professionals remain responsible for keeping public representation accurate, working within scope, following relevant standards and handling changes to qualification or status in accordance with IHPSO requirements. Membership should therefore not be understood as a one-time credential that remains permanently unchanged. If Membership is not renewed, Active Professional Member status must no longer be represented after the paid term expires. Any later reactivation is subject to the IHPSO Requirements applicable at the time of reactivation.

MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

From Professional Profile to verifiable status.

The Membership Pathway follows five steps: 1. Create a Professional Profile. 2. Confirm eligibility and required professional information. 3. Complete all four Core Courses. 4. Pass all four assessments with a score of at least 80 percent each. 5. Once all applicable requirements are fulfilled, Active Professional Status can be activated and the eligible Professional Profile can be published in the Public Registry. Payment opens the Membership Pathway but does not replace any of these requirements.
